Pre-Dance 3 & 4 years
This class starts with a warm up incorporated w/ tap & creative movement.
(Ballet & tap shoes are required)
Tap
At ages as young as 3, dancers are taught not only technique but a series of rhythms in which tap is most commonly understood. As the dancer advances tap evolves from a theater style into a hoofer style. Hoofing or “Rhythm Tap” is a very complex style executed close to the floor surface.
Broadway Tap
Broadway Tap is widely performed in musical theater. Students learn about stage presence, personality and ability to entertain. Students need to be attending a technique class in order to participate. Our Broadway Tap classes dazzle a crowd as we focus on a different musical each year as all classes combine for a finale.
Ballet
A Russian Classical style is offered for ages 4 and up. As they advance in level they are trained in the Ceccetti style.
Pointe
Regular ballet classes are evaluated at the junior high school level to advance to this beautifully trained technique.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. This style challenges dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer’s movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. A Classical ballet background is required.
Contemporary
The contemporary style is from a modern dance technique that creates the philosophy of movement. Strong story lines captivate the audience when performed on stage.
Jazz
Jazz is a fun form of dance with unique movement, big leaps and turns. Foundational ballet background is a must for this style.
Hip Hop
This is a broad style of dance in which the elements of break-dancing, street style and funk are combined. Popular “hip hop” music of the time is used to keep the students motivated and energized.
